At First Editions we have a unique collection of ornamental and leather bindings.  These books are highly collectible and become family heirlooms.

 

The Works of Alexander Pope in nine volumes dated 1751, published just after Pope’s death, Tales and Novels of Maria Edgeworth in eighteen volumes, published by Baldwin and Craddock in 1832, and the Works of John M. Synge in four volumes published by Maunsell & Co., Dublin, 1910 are only some of the finest antiquarian leather bindings on our shelves.

Externally the books are in the original half blue leather binding with matching blue boards. The spines have 4 thickly raised bands with the titles in gilt and decoration in every compartment. Top edge is in gilt. Marbled endpapers. Overall external condition is excellent. The books are very clean, tight and bright with an absolute minimum of any handling wear. Internally the books are in excellent condition .They are all complete and are very clean bright and tight. 405, 403, 435, 421 pp.
